Official Press Release, London, 10 June 2026:
Buyers can pay supplier invoices by Visa Commercial Card, including suppliers that do not accept cards.
Card payments happen inside the existing invoice, approval and reconciliation workflow, reducing manual admin across AP teams.
Bluechain, the platform that connects invoice, approval, payment and reconciliation across the B2B payment cycle, has been named a Business Payment Solution Provider under Visa Europe’s BPSP programme.
The programme allows buyers to use a Visa Commercial Card, physical or virtual, to pay suppliers that do not accept cards. This brings commercial card payments into the same workflow where finance teams already raise, approve and reconcile invoices.
Finance teams still manage invoices, approvals, payments and reconciliation across disconnected systems, while many providers only address one part of the process. Cards could simplify much of this, but only 62% of European suppliers accept them¹, and just 2% of total B2B payment value flows on cards today². That leaves the cashflow and reconciliation benefits of commercial cards out of reach for most B2B spend.
Bluechain connects invoice, approval, payment and reconciliation in one workflow. As a Visa BPSP, Bluechain enables buyers to pay supplier invoices by Visa Commercial Card, including suppliers that do not accept cards.
Card payments happen at the point of approval, inside the existing workflow finance teams already use, with no separate supplier onboarding. Buyers gain greater flexibility over how and when they pay, improved visibility over spend, and the ability to better align payments with working capital and procurement objectives, without asking suppliers to change how they operate.
Tim Annis, Co-Founder and CEO of Bluechain says:
“Signing suppliers up never scales, and both sides know it. Buyers want flexibility and choice. Suppliers want simplicity and reliable cash. Removing that friction can have an impact far beyond the payment itself. Being part of Visa’s BPSP programme means businesses no longer have to pay the way their suppliers dictate. They pay the way that works for them.”
Lucy Demery, SVP Head of Visa Commercial Solutions Europe, said:
“With Bluechain, we’re simplifying how businesses make supply chain payments. That means less friction, better visibility and smarter working capital. This is a great solution for banks and fintechs, to allow buyers to make card-based supplier payments inside the invoice workflow.”
